Traditions; Every year we decorate Ginger Bread houses and bake cookies. Every year we decorate our Christmas tree Thanksgiving weekend. Every year my Mom comes from PA and sleeps over Christmas Eve so she can wake up with us on Christmas morning. Every year I host Christmas dinner and it is a must that there is my homemade Pecan Pie and Pumpkin Pie for dessert.

Every year on Christmas Eve, we go to Church with my husbands side of the family, a good 20 of us!!! After Church we all head back to my in-laws house where my Mother-in-law has a huge meal waiting for all of us.

The thing I love about traditions is that they can stand the test of time. They may get a little worn and rough around the edges but the sentiment doesn’t waver, the meaning doesn’t fade, the love is still felt.

This piece is a reminder that just because things may have been done before, may not be as bright and shiny as they once were, may have gotten worn and scuffed, that doesn’t make it any less special.

I think the specialness is actually knowing that it has been passed down year after year and most likely will be for many more. That it has been touched by family and friends. That it has been touched by all that LOVE!
