Blank Stare

Blank Stare; that is exactly the look on both of our faces after we closed the door behind them, after we closed the door behind the family that we just signed our house over to, the promise to anyway.

What did we just do? We turned to each other and asked ourselves again, “What did we just do?” I think we just sold our house? We both were in shock! We both had this nervous laugh and then tears streamed down our faces.

This was just supposed to be a test. I mean, who sells their house in less than an hour? I mean, they didn’t even look in the closets or all the rooms!!!

The kids came up from the yard where they kept our dog at bay. They both had blank stares after we told them what had just happened. They thought we were just showing them the house. That we were just kidding. I think we thought that too.

I guess it was too late now. We had already gone too far.
